"Nico nods as he remembered. "this was weird. One second, she's scratching me, screaming at me. next minute, she's totally cool." "what?" " yeah. once i said forget it, she just laughed." " laughed?'' yeah she cheered right up. even said she was sorry for scratches."

I think this part is both funny and important. I think this part is funny because the whole book its always  about how Wendy get her way. When it said she freaked out it made sense but when it said she was totally cool and she was happy and ok with the fact she didn't get Nico was surprising/ funny. It was funny because it was totally not like Wendy and it was funny because she seemed so happy she wasn't getting Nico, they way she cheered up was funny.  I also think its kinda important to the book because, Rain is trying to find out who killed Wendy and, is trying to find out if Nico was really the one who killed her and, this really kinda gives a pretty good clue. If she was so happy she didn't get Nico was she up to something? why was she so happy? if she really was as happy as Nico said then it gives us a pretty good clue that Wendy might have been up to something witch is pretty important to the book.

A puzzling paragraph in the book is the first paragraph in the book because you really have no idea what is happening.  Rain tells the reader "you" what is going on but it transitions from one random scene to another.  There are to many parts in this paragraph that don't make sense so you are just completely confused.  The writer had like completely no idea what she was doing because it made no sense at all and there was a part where Wendy fell and it skipped to her and Wendy talking about how Wendy’s house sucked while Rain’s apartment was awesome.
The beginning of the book is very interesting. A lot of very important things happen in the first half of the book. At the beginning of the book it was mostly about how Rain and Wendy used to be friends. Also what happened between them to make them not friends anymore.

The beginning of the book started off as a dream Rain had about a party. she dreamed about Wendy falling, and no one cared. Then it talked a little bit about the part on that one night but not very much they didn't give it away that fast. Then there is a little hint about Wendy. Her mom doesn't know where she is, and then they talk about Wendy and Rain and the old friendship.

Then things get interesting, Wendy is missing and no one ones were she is. Her mom starts to get worried. Rain doesn't think anything of it at first she still a little distant from Wendy. All rain though was she probably is just with Nico. They tell us about Wendy and Rain and there old friendship for a while. Then they get into the story. Then next thing that happened turned Rain from distant to curious. They found Wendy dead in the park. Everything that followed the death is all very interesting and the middle of the book.

What happened in my book was that, so far what I read was mysterious. First thing that happened in my book was that there was a party going on ,and apparently Rain, and Wendy were best friends ,but they figured that they had nothing in common. After they broke up as friends Wendy the school rules ,and talked to the popular people. They didn't care about the rules either ,so they all became friends ,and Wendy became popular ,but what happened to Rain was a different story then Wendy's. Rain was by herself. She didn't know who to be friends with, until she seen a girl crying because people made fun of her. Rain went over to help her, but they didn't become friends.Although later on in her life she did meet a girl. A girl who was ,so rude to everyone. They became nice friends ,and girl who was mean wasn't mean to Rain. They had a great friendship. Now both of them are trying to figure out who killed Wendy because apparently someone killed Wendy, and Now those two girls are trying to figure out who before they throw Wendy's body away. But right now in the book the person who Rain believes did it is Nico.
My thoughts on the book are pretty good, the book is kind of random because it goes to very random parts in the story.   There are a couple parts that don't even really go with the story but there is a lot more that does go with the story.  Rain (main character) goes to these random moments that happened in the past and she really makes the story confusing for me.  Now on to the most exciting part of the story. When Rain had that dream and she watched Wendy fall off of something. The most interesting part is when Wendy was found dead in the park and they don't know who killed her.
An interesting part in "The Girl In The Park" is that I am wanting to find out why Wendy died and who killed her. She died right after the party that Rain and Wendy went too. The police found Wendy dead in the middle of the park assaulted. Wendy's mom did not want a funeral until her killer was found and in custody. When rain went to school the next day, she saw that everyone was crying because they really do care that Wendy was dead.
The most exciting thing that has happened in the book so far? I think the most exciting thing that has happened so far is Wendys death. It was kinda sad but, the most exciting thing that had happened.
The rest of the book is old storys about how Rain and Wendy were best friends and they get a little boring, then they talk about partys they go to and they are interesting but not the most exciting.  The reason that Wendy's death is the most exciting thing so far is because, the death was the first shocking thing in the book, the death changes the mood and whole story of the book. If Wendy didn't die i think the whole book and mood would be different. Also they why they think she died and how she was found dead and everything that going on after they know she is dead is pretty interesting, so thats why i think Wendy's death is the most exciting thing in the book so far.

The setting in the story seems to make it very sad and tough on Rain because she had an old friend get murdered in the park.  She also has some other things that seem to be bothering her like they recent party she had gone to.  She had also had a dream about a party and her friend Wendy had fallen to her death while she tried to scream to everyone to help but her speech problems made it so she couldn't be understood and was laughed at.  She also lives in New York and the crime rate is pretty high.  She also had a paralyzed grandmother which might have an effect on her mood.  She doesn't have many friends either and that might mean she is more shy than others.  I've noticed in the book her dad is never around so maybe he passed away or left her and her mother.  When she herd about her friend Wendy's death she sort of shut down for a while and was in a depression stage.  She wanted to hear Wendy's voice again so she got on her Facebook and watched some of her videos.  Rain's mom is always trying to make her happy but it almost always seems to backfire.
The setting affects the mood because, it takes place in New York and there has been a lot of murders in the park. When Wendy died after the party that happened, there was a lot a stuff that went down hill. Her parents did not want to have a funeral till her killer was caught. When Wendy's best friend went to school the next day there was a lot of kids crying because they missed Wendy. And after the death of Wendy, the police seen that she was assaulted in many ways.
The setting effects the mood of the story a lot. If there was a different setting then the whole story would be different. The story is about the main character Rain and her "dead" old best friend Wendy. The mood of the story is kinda sad because its about how Rain and Wendy aren't friends anymore because of partys, and how this girl Wendy left a party and ended up dead in the park the next morning. The mood is sad because so many sad/bad things keep happening at parties. And the party is the setting so if there is a different setting then all those sad/bad things would have never had happen, so then the whole mood would be different.
